Lani has years of experience both as a vendor and as a sale associate in local stores. She has long dreamed of owning her own store; she figured it would always be a dream and never something that would come true. Life took a tragic turn for Lani when she unexpectedly lost her son. Lani knows life is precious and short. Opening The Elephant's Trunk is a new chapter in her life. She wants to bring joy to her customers and she hopes to encourage others to reach for their dreams despite their fears. She says, "take the leap, life is short".
Lani shares her life with her fiancé and her boys. She says she could not have accomplished her dreams without them.
The Elephant has special symbolism for Lani. Her grandma collected them and she had a similar shop of her own; it was called Lani’s Place. Lani spent weekends with her grandma at her store. The Elephant's Trunk is a true full circle moment for her.
Jennifer was born and raised and still resides in Chesterfield County. As the owner of Front Door Realty Group (also in Chester), she has built strong connections in the community. The Elephant's Trunk is Jennifer's way of turning her longtime hobby and passion into a business that will serve the community that she adores. Jennifer is excited about her two businesses offering homeowners a package of services; It is her hope that the community will allow Front Door Realty Group the honor to represent them in their real estate needs and that they will shop at The Elephant's Trunk to furnish and decorate their homes.
Jennifer says that she owes so much to her family for their support. Her husband, Brian, can always be found completing an endless "honey-do" list. Jennifer says he is simply, "amazing". What excites Jennifer most about the location of The Elephant's Trunk is the fact that it is located next door to her daughter's business, Evolution Dance Center. Jennifer and her daughter, Madison, both work together at all three of their businesses, she says they make the best team.
Lani and Jennifer agree that there is no other person that they would rather be in business with. They have such great respect for each other and their strengths compliment each other to perfection. They both have deep passions for their business and they will stop at nothing to make sure their customers have an exciting and fun shopping experience. They are committed to being creative and to thinking outside of the trunk to give their shoppers an exciting trip to the store each time.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
